What restorative yoga is
Restorative yoga is the practice of being held. Bolsters, blankets and blocks support your body in a small number of gentle, comfortable postures, and you stay in each one for five to fifteen minutes. There is no effort, no stretching to your edge, and nothing to achieve. Your only task is to let go.
It is not a workout. It is the opposite of a workout, and that is exactly the point.
