Karen began her career in the health sciences over 25 years ago as a Registered Dietitian and Holistic Nutrition Therapist. She started practicing yoga in 1998 as a means of physical fitness which soon led to her dedicated formal studies in yoga.

 

Karen has spent countless hours earning various yoga teacher training certifications, including Traditional Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Ashtanga Advanced Series, Vinyasa Flow, Krishnamacharya Healing Yoga Therapy, Restorative Yoga, Vedic Study, Meditation and Pranayama. Her personal practice is rooted in the heart of Ashtanga Yoga, as originally taught by Sri. K Pattabhi Jois. Under the guidance of her primary teacher, David Garrigues, Certified Ashtanga Teacher, Karen continues to reach new depths of yoga. An effective teacher must ALWAYS remain a student as well.

 

Given Karen’s dedication to health and wellness, she was inspired to learn the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda at Kerala Ayurveda Academy, wherein she became a Certified Ayurveda Health Practitioner.

 

Karen’s career culminated by founding Clarity Concierge, offering life and business coaching programs. She is trained in Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Hypnosis which she uses to help clients/students unblock and manifest with passion and purpose. She refers to it as, “subconscious-mindful reprogramming, with a dash a spiritual wisdom.”

 

Her vision has come full circle. Teaching, counseling and sharing the collective wisdom of mind-body-spirit to pay forward the gift of healing and wellness.

 

Karen’s approach to yoga combines physical movement with mindfulness to create a true meditation in motion. Her classes are suited for all levels of practitioners, offering modifications for newcomers and advanced instruction for the seasoned yogi. You can expect that each class will offer a blend of physical and mindful challenges with an ultimate goal of clarity and confidence.
