Emily Loeb

"RYT 500, Teaching Gentle Yoga"

Emily turned to yoga in 2009, after the birth of her third child, as a means of coping with the demands of motherhood. 

She received her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Certification at The Funky Om in 2016, and completed the 300 Hour Training at The Funky Om in 2018. She received certification in Oncology Yoga in 2022. 

Emily co-ran a yoga program at a local day camp for several summers and continues to teach kids at a neighborhood pre-school. 

Emily loves teaching gentle yoga classes, where she focuses on building a safe and nurturing practice, with an emphasis on creative sequences, mindful movement, meditation, and an extended shavasana.

Immensely grateful for all of her teachers, Emily considers herself a lifelong student of yoga, and continues to immerse herself in workshops and classes whenever she can.

Gentle Vinyasa Yoga IN STUDIO

This class is good for beginners and experienced students who prefer a more gentle practice. Awareness of the breath is encouraged to facilitate movement in and out of poses. Postures include standing, seated, and reclining postures, spine lengthening, twisting, gentle hip and chest opening in a manner accessible to most people.

Gentle/Yin Yoga IN STUDIO

This class is good for beginners and experienced students who prefer a gentle, relaxing practice. Awareness of the breath is encouraged to facilitate movement in and out of poses. Postures include spine lengthening, twisting, gentle hip and chest opening in a manner accessible to most people. Yin Yoga targets the deep connective tissue and the fascia which surrounds muscle fibers. This is a passive practice where  postures are held for three to five minutes. Yin helps improve joint mobility and release trauma stored in the joints and muscles. Postures are supported with blocks, bolsters, and blankets when necessary to ensure comfort while gently stretching.
