Susan Lawrence

"RYT 500, teaching Gentle Vinyasa & Restorative Yoga"

Susan Is trained in Hatha and Restorative Yoga.

She studied with Andrea Karahalios in Miami to receive her 200 hour certification in 2021 in the tradition of the Himalayan Institute. She completed her 300 hour training in the vinyasa flow method with RedTail Power Yoga in Hopewell Junction, NY in 2024.  

Susan’s yoga practice has evolved over 20 years and she has found it to be essential through many life transitions. Her teaching is informed by her ongoing transformative spiritual journey & her personal experience with the healing effects of a restorative practice.

Susan’s classes offer gentle breath-guided movement, instruction in the use of props, and asana variations. Her hope is to share with her students the joy and healing that she has found through yoga.

Susan calls Port Jefferson home and is the proud mama of Brook and their kittens, Onyx and Sol.

She is very grateful to have discovered and become a part of the Yajamahe Yoga community.

Gentle/Restorative Yoga IN STUDIO

This class is good for beginners and experienced students who prefer a gentle, relaxing practice. With awareness on the breath, the body is supported with blocks, bolsters, and blankets to ensure comfort and stability while holding the postures. This practice is conducted mainly on the floor in seated and reclining postures.

Gentle Vinyasa Yoga

This class is good for beginners and experienced students who prefer a more gentle practice. Awareness of the breath is encouraged to facilitate movement in and out of poses. Postures include standing, seated, and reclining postures, spine lengthening, twisting, gentle hip and chest opening in a manner accessible to most people.
